The AMS Team Lead is a Senior operational leadership role working within our Application Management Service Practice.  Reporting to the Practice Area Lead, the focus of this role is to help deliver the strategic objectives, developing talent and responsible for delivering day to day AMS excellence for the Integration area.

This role requires you to work, think, contribute and collaborate strategically in your Practice and with Alight clients throughout EMEA.  Key to the success is the ability to balance your client commitments whilst at the same time developing the capability of your team within the Practice.


  • Ensure that the AMS team is operating in line with Company objectives in terms of revenue and growth
  • Working closely with the Practice Area Lead to identify hiring needs not just in terms of headcount but also skillset level and location and budget.
  • Monitor utilisation within their AMS team and report to the Practice Area Lead providing suggestions on necessary action
  • Leading integration design, estimation and requirements gathering with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure delivery to scope, costs and in time


  • Ensures consistency in methodology and approach to client engagement is maintained
  • Collaborates with the equivalent leads in US and APAC to ensure global ways of working
  • Identify and act upon areas for improvement to ensure projects are delivered effectively, with excellence and are profitable
  • Manages bench tasks within the Integration Area


  • Stays abreast of the Workday Roadmap for Integrations and reacts accordingly
  • Ensures that team is ready to assimilate new AMS clients into service
  • Remains active in the Workday Community and promotes the use of Community to others
  • Design , develop and update Workday integrations as part of ongoing BAU services


  • Proactively ensures that their AMS team is fully utilised
  • Inputs in to the staffing of resources on AMS Support and Project assignments
  • Identifies hiring needs and discusses opportunities with the Practice Area Lead
  • Conducts the initial telephone interview for potential candidates in to the AMS team, and provides a recommendation on whether to proceed to the next stage
  • Onboarding of new starters/transfers in to AMS, typically acts as the buddy


  • Responsible for the welfare and career development of integration consultants within your practice area, together working on a development plan to help them progress in their careers
  • People Management of a team of 3-6
  • Sets goals, conduct performance and compensation reviews and manage any performance or behavioural issues
  • Acts as a mentor to consultants who are new to the team
  • Provides advice and guidance within the team to help develop expertise for all consultants of all abilities
  • Identify training needs within the team, and work with the Practice Area Lead to help shape any specific requirements
  • Ensure all AMS team members are equipped to deliver operationally

You Bring Knowledge and Expertise


Required Experience and competencies:

  • Workday Integration experience essential and certification preferred
  • 3+ years consulting experience, either within a consulting/software organisation or as an internal consultant within a Client Thorough understanding of and experience in the application of modern integration technologies (EDI, Web Services, XML, XSLT, Java, .Net, middleware),
  • As a leader you will have the ability to portray an optimistic view to others, galvanising enthusiasm and commitment to keep going having had experience of leading teams and / or coaching and mentoring
  • You will have strong written and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and communicate clearly and concisely, adapting your style to the audience
  • You will be adept at solving problems, acting immediately and decisively
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise, responding with a sense of urgency to immediate needs,
  • Able to be resilient when faced with difficulties and challenges and putting in extra effort and determinations to succeed
  • Willingness to travel - up to 20% of your working time,


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, business or other relevant field of study
  • Experience of working with Workday Integration either with a client or as a Consulting partner is essential, preferably Certified, If not already a holder of the relevant Workday Certifications, successful completion of appropriate Workday Certification(s) is a requirement of the role”
